The opportunity to meet different people within the organisation and to attend a variety of events you will provide a safe and friendly transport to our service users and potentially their dogs in your own vehicle or Guide Dogs’ vehicle.
Following our guidelines for manual handling you may be required to transport Guide Dogs equipment such as gazebos and dog care equipment, and support with the erection and dismantling of equipment.
This role has 10-12 hours of training, these modules include:
Driver Induction
Manual Handling Guidance
Sighted Guide Training
Safeguarding Training
Apply for this role and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting people with sight loss to live actively, independently, and well.
• Be a confident and conscientious driver - a clean driving licence is preferred, although minor driving convictions may not necessarily preclude a person from volunteering.
• Have knowledge and/or experience of working with people with sight loss or other disabilities but not essential.
• Maintaining professional boundaries with all passengers and adhering to safeguarding policies.
A Enhanced Criminal Disclosure check is necessary for this role.
