Eadha Enterprises
- VO58979
Eadha is developing a new community woodland at Wardlaw Windfarm near Dalry. We are looking for volunteers to help in the planting of 10,000 native trees. We will be planting a range of species including some rare aspen grown by Eadha. The scheme has been designed to not only enhance the landscape and provide new wildlife habitats but also potentially provide a future economic resource for the local community in the form of biomass. The site lies high in the Renfrewshire Hills and offers spectacular views. However, the site is exposed and the terrain rough and volunteers would require to have suitable clothing and be used to outdoor work. We are keen for this woodland to become a genuine community resource, offering the potential for future community management and sustainable use, including the harvesting of woodfuel. Eadha has engaged with a number of local groups and organisations who we hope will become involved in the tree planting. We will also be offering opportunities for work experience for local unemployed people.
Experience required
No previous experience required – training will be provided.
