Could you visit a local care home to provide friendship, company for residents? Help to make sure everyone receives support to live well when approaching the end of their life.
Companions provide support and companionship to those who are alone in a Care Home setting. The volunteer role will provide emotional support to residents, providing some company, having a nice chat or just sitting alongside them. This volunteer role will involve regularly attending the care home where residents who need support will be identified for the volunteers.
There may be times when a volunteer would be asked to be with someone who is actively dying if the volunteer feels comfortable in doing so.
Training and ongoing support will be provided for all volunteers.
