Robert Burns Birthplace Museum (SA)

The award winning Robert Burns Birthplace Museum is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join its guiding team. Set among 10 acres of the poet's cherished Alloway countryside; the site comprises the famous Burns Cottage where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work, the elegant monument and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum housing the world's most historic collection of his life and works.
Volunteers in this role will be guiding groups of paying customers through the RBBM exhibition to highlight various items. This tour is called the 'Robert Burns Top-Ten-Tour!'
Main duties include:
Escorting groups of visitors around the exhibition
Providing spoken interpretation for a predetermined set of items.
The volunteers will select 9 items - 3 from each section - Identity, Inspiration and Fame - and one poem from the series of perimeter cases. They will research these in enough depth to speak comfortable for approximately 3 - 4 minutes on each item.
