MCR Pathways - Clacks
- VO101613
Mentors spend an hour each week listening to and encouraging a young person in their school. The relationship that develops is what makes the difference. A mentor is someone who takes time to listen to and encourage their young person to persist and achieve. In short, their volunteer mentors help young people to realise their full potential.
Supporting young people in the UK has never been more important. Through no fault of their own, care-experienced and young people facing challenges are affected by a significant gap in outcomes compared to their peers. They aren’t reaching their potential—but mentoring can change that.
MCR Pathways is an award winning mentoring programme which has been supporting young people since 2007. Their vision is that every young person gets the same education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances. Their aim is to help young people unlock their potential, no matter their circumstances.
Just one hour a week with a consistent, caring adult can boost confidence, academic performance and open doors to a brighter future.
Volunteer mentors spend one hour a week listening to and encouraging their young person. Every young person is different and so MCR Pathways need mentors from all walks of life. Their mentors help the young person they are matched with, to realise their full potential and be empowered with the confidence and belief to make it happen.
The only qualification you need to be a mentor is the desire to help and be there. Training is provided and support is available throughout the mentoring journey.
