Community Support Volunteer 1-2-1

Volunteers will provide in person support to people living with our conditions in the community. You will embrace a non-judgement, supportive approach to enable service users to achieve their goal(s). Empower and enable those accessing our services to gain confidence and engage fully in activities of their choosing moving forward from Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland.

You will also complete a record of activity and progress and update the Co-ordinator with any concerns or identified areas where additional support may be required. Attend (in person or virtual) 6 weekly support and supervision session with Co-ordinator

  • Reliable, patient & empathic qualities

  • Encouraging and supportive

  • Ability to volunteer independently with guidance and support

  • Respectful of the opinions of others

  • Understand the need for confidentiality

  • Able to maintain boundaries

Travel details

Variable dependent on referrals - across East Renfrewshire. Mainly in people's homes, but can be in care homes or public places too.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
