Activities Support Volunteer

Common Wheel supports people with mental illness by providing meaningful activities. We have various activities, and between August 2025 and March 2026, we are going to be running a series of drop-in activities. All our activities aim to improve mental wellbeing. Increase skills, reduce isolation, and challenge stigma.

The Activities Support Volunteer role is a practical role which will involve supporting at our drop-in sessions at Campbell House in the grounds of Gartnavel Royal Hospital. The groups will be led by freelance workshop leaders and supported by our Art and Activity Coordinator and volunteers.

Tasks may include:

Helping set up
Welcoming participants
Managing the completion of a basic registration form for participants
Making teas and coffees
General support during the activity
Helping to clear up after

Flexibility & Scheduling

All roles offer flexible scheduling, tailored around existing program slots—particularly for bikes, art, climbing, and music.

Volunteers work closely with coordinators to match availability, typically confirming a regular weekly commitment.

Some may require evening or weekend availability, depending on session specifics. Confirm individual program schedules at sign-up.

This role would suit someone interested in volunteering in the third sector, supporting others, and who has an interest in arts, crafts, photography, fitness, gardening and the outdoors.

Volunteers will get an induction for the role with ongoing support from the Art and Activity Coordinator.

To apply, click the ‘apply’ button (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator via email or phone.
