Join Our Board of Trustees!

Are you passionate about Burnhill, fairness, and grassroots change? We’re looking for committed, compassionate individuals to help guide The Highbacks as we grow. No formal experience needed — just lived experience, local knowledge, and a heart for community.
• Help shape inclusive programming and ethical employment
• Support youth-led activism and environmental pride
• Meet monthly and contribute to strategic decisions
• Training and support provided

Purpose: Help guide The Highbacks’ mission, ensure ethical practice, and amplify community voice.
Tasks:
• Attend monthly board meetings (in person or online)
• Review and contribute to funding decisions, policies, and strategic plans
• Champion inclusion, youth leadership, and environmental pride
• Offer lived experience and local insight to shape programming
• Support fundraising, partnerships, and advocacy when possible
Optional extras:
• Help review safeguarding and onboarding materials
• Represent The Highbacks at community events or funder meetings

Experience required
