June Nearly New Sale

About this event

Come along to our Pop up Shop' on Friday 7th June and Saturday 8th June at Portlethen Academy, and help us provide parents with affordable, high quality preloved items and raise money to support local parents at the same time. We take in preloved items on the Friday night, set up a massive one stop shop for the sale on Saturday morning and clear it all away again.

We are 100% run by volunteers, selling items on behalf of local parents.

Babies are very welcome to attend with parents, but we do ask they are in slings during the sale as it is very busy. We are happy to support families looking to volunteer together.

Volunteering details

We have a variety of different roles standing, sitting and moving around:

Admin: signing in sellers and passing information to sellers, this is a great sitting job if moving around isn't too easy for you.
Sorting, setting up and tidying up: sorting out the items, setting them up in for sale visually attractive way, a great way to get your daily steps in.
Volunteer Admin: welcoming and ensuring volunteers know what they are doing and have read the briefing sheet.
Till volunteer: using our till system, taking cash and card payments.

We have 3 volunteer shifts available: 6pm-9.30pm on Friday, 9am-1pm and 1pm-4pm on the Saturday (these are all flexible so don't worry about being a bit late or having to leave earlier). We ask that you try to do at least two out of the three shifts but please get in touch with if you are able to help at all within those times.

As well as a lovely 'pot luck lunch' and the feel good buzz of volunteering, volunteers do get advanced shopping on the Friday night or before the sale on the Saturday morning. If you can't help on the day we have lots of opportunities to volunteer from home in the run up tp the sale, helping with social media, working with our sponsors and supporting our sellers.

We welcome anyone working on their Saltire awards
