Includem works with vulnerable children, young people and families to help them transform their lives and actively participate in all aspects of society. We work with social services, schools and criminal justice services who identify children and young people that could benefit from our help, and we then engage with the child or young person and their family or carer to develop a package of support, tailored to their specific needs. The children and young people we see are often at the lowest point in their young lives and have nowhere to turn for help and support. Includem is a trauma informed organisation, and our staff identify and manage impacts of adverse childhood experiences, including poverty. Our approach is rooted in developing and sustaining trusting relationships and using these as the catalyst for change. Our staff are highly responsive to need and available day and night every day of the year to step into emergency and crisis situations that could potentially split families apart. We have more than 150 staff providing essential services in communities across Scotland, with regional offices in Glasgow, Stirling, Fife, Dundee and Aberdeen. We operate local authority contracts in the areas of early intervention, intensive whole family support, youth justice, and drugs and alcohol misuse. In addition, we have two Scotland-wide projects on youth justice funded by the Promise.
