St Giles’ has been part of the city since 1124, with much of the building you see today constructed in the late 1300s and 1400s. It has been home to many key events in Scotland’s history and is the birthplace of the Presbyterianism and the Scottish Reformation. There are centuries of architecture and art here, from medieval stonework to Victorian windows, and the neo-Gothic Thistle Chapel. Not only are we an important historical site, but also a working parish church and cultural centre, hosting various musicians from around the world for evening and lunchtime concerts.
