The objects of the Group shall be to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Wigtownshire area by assisting through the voluntary provision of transport, advice, aid or assistance the work of statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and bodies engaged in the relief of poverty, sickness and disabilities including the disabilities of old age, the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation within the meaning of Section 1 of the Recreational Charities Act 1958 and any other charitable purpose, so that the conditions of life of the aforementioned inhabitants may be improved
