Set up 12 years ago in the Tollcross area of Glasgow in memory of an inspirational young man who tragically died, The Sound Lab has been supporting young people to fulfill their potential through our provision of high-quality music, media and arts tuition ever since.
Up until 2014 we primarily worked with 12-15 year olds, however last year we widened our constitution to now support disadvantaged people from all backgrounds, irrespective of age or background. Our primary activities are delivering music tuition (guitar, drums, DJ, keyboard, sound recording and others), media (film-making, photography) and creative programmes (painting, healthy-eating, anti-sectarian drives and other community projects).
We have strong partnerships with Tollcross YMCA and Glasgow Music Studios, where our excellent tutors have access to first class equipment, providing disadvantaged people with a platform to develop new skills that they otherwise might not be given.
