5.8 million people in the UK live in ‘ deep poverty’ and cannot afford everyday essentials such as food. At the same time around 3.9 million tonnes of food is wasted each year by the food and drink industry. FareShare has a unique mission: to fight hunger and its underlying causes by redistributing surplus food to hundreds of local charities across the UK.
