Marie Curie (Dumfries and Galloway)

Charity registered in Scotland SC038731

Marie Curie provides care and support to serve all those with a terminal diagnosis and their families and carers. Marie Curie provides and develops caring services, offering support, care and compassion through palliative care, advice and assistance for the benefit of people suffering from terminal illnesses and their families and carers; 2.1.2 to undertake and fund research into any aspect of the care and support of people suffering from terminal illnesses and their families and carers; and 2.1.3 to provide information, education and support to patients, their families, carers, those working in medical and other caring fields and the public regarding the care of people suffering from terminal cancer and other terminal illnesses.

In Dumfries & Galloway, Marie Curie is supported by 9 volunteer-led fundraising groups, several individual volunteers and charity ambassadors. Our fundraising groups get together and come up with ideas to promote our services and to raise funds so that we can reach more people in Scotland who are living with a terminal illness. It costs around £20 to fund a Marie Curie nurse for 1 hour, so we are always looking for more volunteers to join our friendly, sociable fundraising groups and raise money for Marie Curie
