Circle Hosts

Age Scotland’s Friendship Services aim to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people in Scotland.

Circles offers older people the opportunity to join regular group telephone calls based around common interests, shared backgrounds, cultures or language- from gardening enthusiasts to Spanish speakers, veterans’ catch-ups to David Bowie fan clubs there’s a Circle for everyone!

Circles Hosts play an important role, facilitating sessions and ensuring the conversation flows for attendees.

Circles Hosts can get involved get involved remotely or can volunteer from our Edinburgh-based offices.

Travel expenses

Age Scotland’s Volunteer Expense Policy cover the costs of travel for essential volunteering purposes.

Support
Training details

Full training and induction is provided via Zoom/Teams. Ongoing support in your volunteer journey and access to additional Age Scotland training opportunities; Diversity and Inclusion Training, Dementia Awareness and Older Veterans’ Awareness Training etc.

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment
flexible

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
