Silver City Surfers - Volunteer Tutors

Silver City Surfers assist people to learn basic computer skills 1-to-1 in a social setting.

We have a brilliant team of volunteers that help and are currently recruiting new volunteers.

As a Volunteer Tutor you will support learners with use of their smartphone, tablet or laptop. Enabling older people to embrace technology and gain the confidence to keep learning, improving not just their digital skills but to use the internet to improve their well-being and feel less socially isolated.

This role will provide the opportunity to enhance your people skills and gain tutoring experience. As you support our learners using everyday language, you will see their lives transformed as they get to grips with the world of IT. And you'll be part of a great team of volunteers.

Working mainly with older people we help them overcome a lack of confidence in using their device and going online. This is empowering for those who are unfamiliar with technology and need basic IT skills to carry out online tasks that are now essential in managing their day to day lives.

A great opportunity to help and make a positive difference in a friendly and supportive place.
