Health and Wellbeing Activity Volunteer

The Community Hub East Renfrewshire is leading health and wellbeing activities in collaboration with East Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership. The aim is to encourage adults to join in activities that support their health and wellbeing, such as walks or chair based exercise, whilst meeting new friends and enjoying spaces in their community.

We are looking for Volunteer Walk Leaders and Strength & Balance facilitators across East Renfrewshire.

Time Commitment:
At least 40 -60 minutes each week to support the activities.

• Develop your knowledge and skills surrounding activities within the local community and increased activity from regular walks
• Increase your confidence
• Socialise and establish new friendships
• Have fun
• Full training will be provided


New Volunteers can expect:
• Ongoing support from the Community Hub
• An opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
• A chance to help others to enjoy local walks


Travel details

The activities take place across East Renfrewshire with volunteers placed to the activity and area that most suits them. Whilst the programme aims to build on existing activities we also support volunteers to develop new activities within their community that they feel would benefit their local area.

• Training to help you lead a healthy walk
• Strength and Balance Training

Scottish Charity, Paths for All and The Community Hub provide training. Other training such as Heart Start and Dementia Walk Leader training is also available.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Frequency & commitment
Time Commitment: At least 40 -60 minutes each week to support the activities.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
