DIY Enthusiast / Handyperson

We are looking for someone to help us set up and coordinate a Creative Community Workplace Unit. We would love to have somewhere where people can borrow tools and share their DIY expertise for hands on projects.
We are hoping to recruit someone who ideally has experience with DIY and tools. Our vision is to have a Creative Community Workplace Unit where people can come along to borrow tools, seek advice and share their success stories. We want to encourage people to upcycle rather than replace, borrow instead of buy and get creative. We would like to set up a tool lending library, allowing community members to borrow tools and equipment for their personal projects. Organise sessions where residents can bring in broken items to be repaired by volunteers, promoting sustainability in a repair workshop, similar to BBCs The Repair Shop. This opportunity is flexible in terms of frequency and commitment. We envisage that the project will grow organically, with workshops and Skill-Sharing, becoming part of the future.

Experience required

Skilled in DIY, knowledge of tools, good organisational skills, friendly, outgoing, practical, willing to learn.
