Cafe Assistant

We are currently looking for volunteers in our community cafe which works to help reduce loneliness and social isolation. We are looking to extend our opening hours and serve food over lunchtime and are looking for people who already have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or would be willing to obtain one (any costs will be met by 65 Club).

You will get to know the customers and build a positive relationship with them. Tasks will include:

• Meeting and greeting customers


• Food Preparation


• Clearing tables and general cleaning


• Building a positive relationship with customers.

Experience required

No experience necessary but you must be willing to complete a Food Hygiene certificate and enjoy working with the general public.

Frequency & commitment

We are looking for volunteers that can cover the lunch period between 12 and 2.

Volunteers (aged 14-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
