Quarriers Homelife – Ayr is a supported living service. Providing practical and emotional support for individuals living in the community who require mental health support or support with learning/physical disabilities.
The main tasks for the Volunteer Group Worker will include:
- Assist in planning and facilitation of group work activities
- Assist with provision of the group programme
- Source nearby amenities and identify appropriate resources
- Communicate and interact with young people to establish non judgemental and supportive relationships
- Understand and maintain boundaries
- Ensure voluntary activities are undertaken in line with Quarriers confidentiality policy
Experience required
- Desire to work with young people
- Ability to contribute as part of a team
- Understanding and commitment to working in a way that recognizes values and diversity
- Effective communication skills and non judgemental approach
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Frequency & commitment
To get the most out of the roles it is hoped you can commit for a half day per week for at least six months.
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
