Vintage Vibes is charity project helping over 60s in Edinburgh overcome loneliness and social isolation. We pair up our Friendship Volunteers and VIPs with shared interests to create genuine friendships. As a volunteer, you will visit your VIP once a week for an hour or so, and enjoy activities such as walks, coffee shops, or a home visit. This is a companionship role, not a carer’s role. You will not be expected to do any personal care, household chores, or financial transactions for your VIP.

Experience required

No previous experience, just have an open and friendly approach.

Travel details

This is an in-person volunteering role. You will be visiting your VIP at their home or accompanying out for walks and to coffee shops. Your VIP will be local to you with shared interests. We can match you with someone close to you home, work or place of study.

Training details

Attend an interactive volunteer training sessions with other volunteers. Attend fun volunteer meet ups every 2 months – such as bowling, escape room with other volunteers. Monthly newsletters for inspiration and conversations starters with your VIPs Ongoing interactive training opportunities such as dementia awareness.
