The Rapid Re-accommodation Welcome Centre is a free service offering food, sleeping facilities and a high level of support to people who do not have any accommodation and otherwise would be sleeping rough. Volunteering as a cleaner for just one hour a week can help support this vital service.General responsibilities;
Change bedding;
Clean the bathroom including the floor;
Clean the surfaces in the room;
Vacuum;
Bag up any belongings that have been left behind.

Experience required

Volunteers should;
Have a keen sense of organisation and attention to detail;
Be adaptable and able to take initiative as the role may vary week to week, and can be changeable.
Be comfortable being around potentially challenging situations as the Welcome Centre can be busy and chaotic.

Travel expenses

Bethany Christian Trust recognises the importance and value of volunteering and wishes to, as far as
possible, mitigate financial barriers to volunteering. Reasonable expenses that occur as a direct result of volunteering are eligible to be reimbursed if correct protocol is followed.
Reasonable expenses include things such as:
Traveling Expenses
Subsistence Costs (Food & Drink)
Any tools, supplies or special clothing you have been required to purchase
Training that is required for the role
An individual is eligible for reimbursement of expenses if they volunteer for a minimum of four hours per shift. Expense reimbursement for a shorter period will, however, be considered on a case-by-case basis, and at the discretion of the volunteer manager and/or supervisor.
