The Toll Community Hub in Burntisland is an extension of the Toll Community Centre.
The Hub helps promote the activities of the center and the charity shop sells bric-a-brac, clothes, books and food (at reduced cost and on specific days). They also offer some off the street support, to direct anybody who is finding things tough, to speak to the right people.
Volunteering with them is an exciting opportunity for anybody willing to get stuck in and who wants to help make a difference for the local community. Their centrally located charity shop is more than just a shop – it’s a social point for people who just sometimes need somebody to talk to.
You would be cash handling, sorting and rotating stock, setting up and closing, including tidying and keeping the space clean. There will be food handling on some days. This is a friendly environment where The Hub plays an important part within the community.
Training provided.
Experience required
Experience working in a charity shop or retail setting would be advantageous but not required as full training will be provided.
Relaxed, empathetic, friendly, flexible and approachable manner all important as well as being comfortable interacting with and accepting of others. If you can think on your feet, are a good communicator and are willing to get stuck in, they’d love to hear from you!
