Quoyloo Old School is run by a volunteer committee (The Managers) which includes a Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

We organise a monthly quiz (except summer) and occasional events, eg coffee mornings and book sales. The building can be hired for wedding receptions, small parties, book launches and has been used by Orkney Storytelling Festival and Orkney Nature Festival. We meet most months (60 to 90 minutes) and volunteer at events, eg refreshments, setting up furniture. Catering for outside events is usually the hiree's responsibility.

The treasurer oversees our bank account, pays bills, monitors insurance and electricity costs and prepares event cash floats. We prefer income by bank transfer but there may be cash and cheque payments to handle. The treasurer should attend Managers' meetings but this does not have to be every meeting. They would be welcome to help at our events which are informal and great fun.

Experience required

You will need to be numerate, a team worker with good communication skills. Some experience in presenting accounts would be useful but not essential.
