Chairperson

Glenrothes Community Sports Hub are looking for a dynamic, resourceful professional person with an understanding of the voluntary and community sector with the capacity to build relationships with key networks and partner organisations. The Chair should have Office Bearer experience and an understanding of the day-to-day operations of a Board.
It would be useful for the Chair to have knowledge of the local community and its prevailing issues. An essential attribute of the Chair would be knowledge and experience of funding and developing new and innovative fundraising activities. A comprehensive understanding of Governance and meticulous attention to detail is required.
The Chair would need to be approachable and be able to develop a good relationship with the current Staff and volunteers and work constructively to develop their roles. There may be occasions where travel to partner meetings are required, these typically take place in the evening.

Experience required

A good understanding and experience of working on a committee.
Office bearer experience is essential
Pro active and dedicated individual who is good at managing people and their time.
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills

Travel details

Glenrothes Community Sports and Health Hub, Gilvenbank Park, Pitcoudie Avenue, Glenrothes, Fife, KY7 6SU. There are frequent buses to Huntsman’s Road from Glenrothes Town Centre, the nearest train station is Markinch. There are also good cycling path networks to and from the Hub.

Travel expenses

Expenses are paid within 5 working days as is mileage which is paid at .45p per mile.

Training details

The Chairperson will be inducted by the Manager and will be given a Volunteer Handbook which covers all information relating to the Hub such as Training Opportunities, the Chair will be given access to contact details for the Manager.
