Christmas Volunteers - Drivers

Volunteering details

We are looking for volunteers who can help Care Experienced people who may feel lonely and isolated this Christmas.
 Our Christmas volunteers will assist in providing transport to and from the venue on Christmas day. Pickups from 10.30am (depending on location) and drop offs will start at 3pm.
This role will involve interacting with people aged 18 plus through providing a memorable day for so many on a day that can be extremely challenging.

We aim to recruit people with excellent qualities from a wide variety of backgrounds who share in our mission. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with care experience.



What will I be doing?


Providing transport to Care Experienced people to and from the venue in Glasgow on Christmas day


Helping Care Experienced people connect and have fun


Helping Care Experienced people feel relaxed and comfortable attending the event


Ensuring Care Experienced people feel safe getting to and from the event


What skills can I bring to this role?


Ability to work well with people and in a team


Good communication and listening skills


What qualities do I need?


To have a non-judgemental approach to people, have empathy


Be enthusiastic, flexible, and committed


Reliable and approachable


Friendly, helpful, and understanding

The venue is in Glasgow however, our members will be attending from across Scotland.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
