Director

Parkour Expression CIC is a not-for-profit organisation based in Aberdeen and it aims to attract funding and coaches to enable regular parkour workshops / classes / events in the North East of Scotland.

As part of our ongoing development we are recruiting a Director for an initial one-year term and are now inviting applications.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:



  • A keen interest in parkour and the development of parkour in the North East of Scotland



  • An understanding of funding applications and experience in successful funding applications



  • An impressive track record of success in the private, public and/or voluntary sector



  • A good understanding of the role that sport plays in society



  • A clear commitment to improving diversity and equality and understanding the needs of under-represented groups in sport



  • A good understanding of the UK’s sporting landscape.




Please note that this will be a volunteer role and will be unpaid.


You will be expected to attend at least eight to ten Board meetings a year, which are normally held online via Zoom. In addition, we would encourage your attendance at a number of Parkour Expression events and classes.

Travel details

Parkour classes generally happen in the centre of Aberdeen currently once a month from April to November. Additional events may take place depending on the outcome of funding applications and could extend into Aberdeenshire.

Meetings generally take place on zoom usually once per month but could be in person depending on ease of getting together.

Travel expenses

Expenses are paid following attendance at classes / workshops at public transport rates.

Support
Training details

Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. A disclosure check and basic safeguarding course will need to be completed.
Familiarisation with policies and procedures will take place.
Support from the two other directors of Parkour Expression will be available.

Minimum age: 16

Frequency & commitment
Flexible times available to assist. All help is greatly appreciated.

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
