Penicuik Storehouse is a community owned shop and cafe, stocking local and ethically sourced products. We provide a space for local crafters to sell their items, and a community space for local groups.
All our fruit & vegetables are organic and are supplied locally. We are looking for a volunteer who has 3 hours a week to spare. Volunteering provides a great opportunity to enhance your CV, meet new people and learn new skills
Main Duties:
- Packing veg boxes following guidance - eventually working out box contents by yourself - Unloading and checking veg deliveries - Pricing veg with guidance to start with, writing price tickets - Arranging fruit and veg for display
Person Specification: - Genuine interest in fruit and veg, especially organic - Attention to detail - Comfortable with numbers (arithmetic) - Happy to get hands dirty!
Experience required
No previous experience required. A friendly person with a can do attitude and willingness to help.

Support
Training details
Volunteers don’t need any experience as we will provide full training. Volunteers are supported on an ongoing basis through existing members of staff and a dedicated Volunteer Support Worker.

Availability
Frequency & commitment
3 hours a week
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
