Drivers Assistant

Driver’s Assistants support our hospice shops ensuring that they have a supply of quality
items to sell. You will need to:
→ Be physically fit and able to lift and move large quantities of stock including heavy
furniture
→ Be willing to travel throughout Ayrshire, accompanying the Retail Drivers
→ Support the delivery and collection of furniture to and from our customer’s and
donor’s homes all over Ayrshire
→ Be willing to give out hospice information and talk informatively about the work of
the hospice
→ Promote our Gift Aid scheme to our donors
→ Handle questions, enquiries and any donations in a professional manner
→ Attend relevant training and team meetings
→ Adhere to the relevant policies and procedures of the hospice

Ayrshire Hospice welcomes applications from all sections of the community. You do
not need to have any experience to volunteer in this role but ideally you should be able
to demonstrate:
→ An understanding of the services the hospice can offer people with a life-limiting
illness.
→ Good interpersonal skills
→ Be a team player and be willing to work within guidelines provided
→ Be responsible and reliable
→ Ability to keep up to date with hospice service provision developments
→ Willingness to uphold the values of the hospice
