The Ayrshire Hospice

This is a truly rewarding opportunity to join our team to ensure the safety, comfort
and wellbeing of our patients during their travels, whilst also building great trusting
relationships with them. You will play a pivotal role as a Living well hub volunteer
driver where you will be trusted to provide a friendly transport service to the
highest standard for patients to and from the living well hubs situated across
Ayrshire. People are also provided with transport to clinics, and the FABS group, and
occasionally to the ward for visiting.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and walks of life to join our team as a
volunteer driver.
Experience required
Transporting patients, and any patient equipment, safely
Ensuring patient comfort and security at all times
The use of your own car, a 5 door is preferable but not essential
Flexibility with the ability to commit to a weekly rota
Reporting any difficulties or incidents immediately to the relevant
practitioner
Keeping vehicle clean, serviced, insured and safe
Submitting any mileage claims regularly
Additional tasks as and when required
Attendance at relevant training and team meetings
Adherence to the relevant policies and procedures of the hospice
Completion of Disclosure Scotland PVG application
Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
