Time Out for Carers Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to support local carers with a much-needed regular break.

As a volunteer, you regularly visit and spend time with the cared-for person at home providing company/doing an activity; if the cared for has good mobility there is the option to go out, for example for a short walk or to the library. The carer can use this time to meet up with a friend, join a group, attend an appointment or do anything they choose.

We will provide induction and ongoing training for all new volunteers and regular support from our volunteer co-ordinator. All volunteers will be carefully matched with a carer and cared for person based on personality, interests and availability. Volunteers will NOT provide any personal care.

Due to the nature of this role, we are asking for volunteers to be able to commit to at least 6 months.

Experience required

No experience required although role may suit someone studying healthcare or someone with experience of looking after a loved one, volunteering or working in health care; this is not inclusive as training will be provided.
