St John Scotland is looking for Volunteer Patient Transport Drivers to join our team.
Main volunteering tasks:
• Safely transport patients from their home to the hospital, and back home again at a pre-arranged time
• Liaise with the Patient Transport Coordinator and commit to regular shifts (there are morning and afternoon shifts
Monday-Saturday)
• You will not be required to actively help patients boarding and disembarking vehicles as all patients referred to the
service are mobile
Volunteer Recruitment process:
• Submit the St John Scotland Volunteer Application form
• Complete your membership of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme. This is free for all
volunteers.
• Volunteer interview with the Patient Transport Coordinator
• Informal driving assessment

Live in Moray - Are between 21 – 80 years old - Hold a full driving licence and are a competent driver - Have access to your own car and are happy to use it for Patient Transport - Are friendly and have a sense of responsibility and commitment.

Travel expenses
You will be eligible to claim expenses for mileage whilst volunteering when using your own vehicle.
Support
Training details
Volunteers will be fully inducted into the role, undertake volunteer training, an informal driving assessment and continuous training is offered for all volunteers.
Restrictions
Minimum age: 21
Lower age is an insurance requirement for the volunteering role.
Availability
Frequency & commitment
Volunteers are asked to make a regular commitment to the role which is flexible around their own availability.
Volunteers (aged 21-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
