Cafe Assistant

Castle Community Cafe runs every Thursday in Blairhall New Community Centre, serving balanced meals at low cost with the aim of reducing social isolation in Blairhall and West Fife and creating a welcoming environment for the local community.

They are looking for volunteers for their cafe as there is a growing need in the community. Volunteers can choose to be involved with a range of tasks, both customer facing and within the kitchen, such as shopping for ingredients, preparing food, cooking, baking, welcoming and serving customers, and handling money. There is also a need for volunteers to take part in some admin tasks, such as shopping lists, online orders, changing menus, etc, or to post on social media.

As a volunteer, you can choose which of these tasks you would like to be involved with, and training and support will be provided.

Experience required

The most important thing is for volunteers to be committed to reducing isolation in Blairhall. Experience in cooking, baking, speaking with customers and handling money would all be great, but training will be provided.
