Fundraising Group Member

Fundraising groups are the local face of Muscular Dystrophy UK, raising vital funds and constantly raising the profile of the charity so that they can reach more people and their families affected by a muscle wasting condition.

They need you to help them; they are asking for your skills and enthusiasm to help grow their fundraising groups! They need people to join with like-minded people in your local area and make Muscular Dystrophy UK better known in your town by collecting for the charity and planning activities to raise awareness. With that, you’ll:

-Meet and work with new and inspiring people


-Developing your communications, fundraising, PR and organisational skills


-Add to your CV


-Develop your leadership skills


-Making a difference to your local community by raising funds and the profile of MDUK in your community


-Have fun, share your enthusiasm and get to enjoy something new


Experience required

-Good communicator
-Strong organisational skills
-Honest and reliable
-Team player
-An interest in muscle-wasting conditions and the services that MDUK provides and an to represent MDUK to members of the public
-Where managing finances – numeric skills, book keeping skills and attention to detail
-Passion and enthusiasm

All expenses are to be agreed beforehand with your RDM. 45p per mile is offered for those driving

Support
Training details

-Volunteer handbook and relevant documents sent after agreeing to be a volunteer after initial meeting.

-All resources needed are sent.

-Go through the volunteer management process including explaining support available as a volunteer.


-Get the volunteer to complete relevant training within our training module.


-Follow up from RDM to ensure volunteer feels supported to begin their role and will tailor to the individual to see if any additional training needed or wanted.
