Home Visitor

Our Home Visitors play a vital role in delivery of our service by visiting potential volunteer pet foster carers to assess their house, home situation and the fosterer.

Main tasks:


  • Contact potential fosterer and arrange a time for the home visit to take place.

  • Carry out the home visit following the guidelines provided by PFSS.

  • Complete the home visit report and return a copy to the Home Visit Coordinator.


Experience required


  • Willing to travel by car/public transport to home visits.

  • Be comfortable visiting potential foster carers in their homes.

  • Experience of pet ownership.

  • A pleasant telephone manner and friendly and professional on home visits.


Travel details

This opportunity is home based with travel to other local locations to carry out home visits. Travel can be by public transport or car and travel expenses will be provided.

Travel expenses

Agreed out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed e.g. public transport costs (on production of receipts), mileage at 45p/mile. Expenses are usually claimed monthly but can be claimed more frequently if required.

Support
Training details

Handbook for the role, induction and informal training either face to face or over the phone when starting in role. Ongoing support provided and informal update training as required.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18
Minimum age 18 due to nature of the role and level of responsibility.
