Board Members

AILN provides information, advice and support to people living in North, South and East Ayrshire who have been assessed by their Local Authority and eligible for Self-directed Support. We provide services to people who opt for Option 1 of the 4 Options available and who would like to take greater control in organising and managing their own support.
AILN also provides a budget management and payroll service to assist people to manage the payment of Personal Assistants they may choose to recruit and/or the agencies they may choose to provide their support.
AILN has a staff team who provide the services day to day and they are managed by our Board of Directors who are all volunteers.
We are currently seeking to recruit a small number of new Directors to join our existing Board.
We are interested in hearing from people with the skills and experience we need to help us take our organisation through to the next stage in its exciting development.
To join our Board you must live within Ayrshire and either:
• Have experience of using social care services and or through self-directed support and organising and managing your own support. You could be using these services yourself or could be a parent or carer.
• Experience gained through working in, or managing health or social care services.

Experience required

• Knowledge of the Voluntary Sector
• General business experience
• Experience managing staff
• Business Development experience
• Knowledge of Health & Safety
• IT/Social Media skills
• Experience in managing budgets and Finance

Support
Training details

On an on-going basis there are a range of opportunities for Board members to develop their knowledge and skills through attendance at training courses and events.

Taster

New Board members will be given the opportunity to meet with staff and hear more about AILN, self-directed support and our payroll service.
