Peer Support Volunteer - CARDS

Many of our clients who engage with the CARDS Service become curious about or wish to engage in recovery or with dedicated recovery services. In response to feedback from clients and volunteers we now have dedicated Peer Volunteers who themselves are in recovery and have lived experience of that journey and can provide our clients with hope and belief that they can make a positive change.

Experience required

The fundamental resource that a Peer Volunteer can bring to the befriending relationship is themselves, their life experience and recovery story, and be open within the befriending relationship. A level of experience or knowledge of coaching is desirable but not essential as training and support will be provided.

Travel details

The one to one client / volunteer sessions will take place in client’s homes and community settings across the city of Edinburgh. Volunteers will be matched with locations that are convenient for them to visit.
