Place2Be works with over 280 primary and secondary schools, reaching a school population of more than 116,000 children. As a volunteer counsellor you will work one to one in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children per week. The commitment is for one day per week, for three school terms, from 8.30am to 4.30pm to include therapy sessions and supervision of clinical work. There may also be opportunities to get involved with group work alongside the School Project Manager.

Experience required

You should either be a fully qualified counsellor or training in a counselling or related course at diploma level. Previous experience of working with children and some personal development work would be desirable.

Travel details

We are based in schools in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Dundee, South Lanarkshire and North Ayrshire. A list of schools can be found on our website.

Training details

All Volunteers attend a 2 day workshop before starting and 1 day of child protection training. There are 7 free additional workshops available. The Volunteer receives weekly on-site supervision.
