Volunteer Delivery Driver

At Falkirk Foodbank, we are dedicated to providing emergency food support to individuals and families in crisis situations. Whether due to unemployment, illness, or unexpected financial hardships, our services aim to help those who are struggling to make ends meet. With a team of over 70 dedicated volunteers, we distribute food parcels to thousands of men, women, and children across the Falkirk area each year, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry during their time of need.

If you're looking for a way to give back to your community then join Falkirk Foodbank as a Volunteer Driver! You'll play a key role in helping us deliver vital food parcels to those in need across the Falkirk area, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they need. You'll also assist by picking up donations from collection points and local partners. It's a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, all while meeting new people and being part of a passionate team. We provide our own vans, and all we need is your time, dedication, and a clean driving license.

This role is an essential part of our operations, helping us deliver food parcels directly to people's homes, including flats and harder-to-reach locations. You'll also assist by picking up food donations from local collection points and supermarkets, ensuring our stocks are replenished so we can continue providing support. Your role is critical in bridging the gap between our foodbank and the people who need it most.

This is a hands-on, rewarding position and you'll see the direct impact of your efforts, knowing that each parcel delivered offers hope and sustenance to those in crisis. You will also be part of a caring and passionate team who will offer you support throughout your role!

If you think you could help, then please reach out!

Experience required

You must hold a full and clean UK driving licence to operate the foodbank’s vans safely and responsibly.

The role involves some lifting and carrying of food parcels (at least 13-14kg), so you need to be able to manage repeated deliveries.

The foodbank relies on drivers to be dependable and on time, ensuring food deliveries and pickups are made promptly to support those in crisis.

You’ll be interacting with a variety of people including other volunteers and those we support going through crisis situations, so clear and friendly communication is important.
