The Scottish Railway Preservation Society are looking for volunteers to join the enthusiastic team that runs the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway, Museum of Scottish Railways and SPS Railtours.

Our volunteers play an important role in preserving the heritage of Scottish railways for future generations. You will learn new skills through support from other volunteers and we can provide training in whichever areas you are interested. Some of our volunteers have been with the Society for a number of years so you can be sure of gaining knowledge and skills from real experts in this field. No matter how much time you can offer, it will be valuable to us.

We are currently seeking volunteers to work in our gift shop, helping to run the shop and assist our visitors. If you are friendly, enjoy people-facing positions and want to support SRPS then this could be the role for you!

A bit more about SRPS: Over the last 40 years we have established a 5 mile steam and heritage diesel branch line, a railtour business running excursions to all parts of the UK, and the Museum of Scottish Railways restoring and taking care of many historic rail vehicles. Around 70,000 visitors each year come to Bo`ness to enjoy a journey by steam train and visit the museum. This is a great opportunity to get involved with our work!
