Midlothian Sure Start

We are looking for parents with children who can offer a minimum of 2 hours a week for a year to meet with another family within Midlothian to offer peer support. This may take place in the families home or out in the community. The volunteer would be provided with ongoing training throughout this role and be offered continuous support and supervision, supervision is a requirement with our project therapeutic worker.
Travel expenses
Travel costs will be reimbursed.

Training details
Before the volunteering role begins the volunteers will be provided with a full days training with other volunteers. This will discuss boundaries and practical guidance for the role, there will also be support throughout from the development officer involved with the recruitment of the volunteers as well as regular therapeutic support from a trained therapist if required.

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
