Support Team Leader

• Create a positive volunteering environment by agreeing how team tasks will be
split between the team, considering individual’s skills, interest and availability;
adapting team activities and tasks to be accessible to everyone and following
safety and safeguarding procedures
• Promote learning and networking opportunities across your Team and the District
• Ensure appropriate recruitment is being undertaken for the Support Team
• Regularly review team and individual team members in line with The Scouts
Policies

Experience required

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Provides advice and guidance effectively to others
• Can build, maintain and facilitate effective working relationships with a wide range
of people
• Enables others to identify issues, clarify objectives, develop attainable objectives
and gain the necessary skills and confidence to work as an effective team
• Plans, manages and monitors own tasks and time
• Can use basic computer software and systems
• Can lead a team effectively
• Experience of supporting volunteers
• An understanding of the needs of adult volunteers
• Flexible approach
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work as part of a team and promote teamwork
• Resourceful, energetic and enthusiastic about the role
• Acceptance of the Fundamentals of Scouting

Travel details

Our main HQ is Keptie Scout Centre, Keptie Road. Arbroath but also work from other halls across the Scout District. We also utilise Zoom in order to cut down travel as much as possible.

Activities for this role are delivered in quite a flexible way the majority of the time and also through targeted meetings when needed. Roughly 8-16 hours volunteering per month.
