ABOUT CENTRAL CARER ASSOCIATION
Central Carers Association (CCA) is the local voluntary organisation that supports carers in Falkirk district and Clackmannanshire and is the managing body of the Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre. The organisation, which is a registered charity and limited company, is managed by a voluntary Board of Trustees who are elected from the membership of the organisation.

They are committed to ensuring that carers of all ages are recognised, valued, receive the information, and support they need to allow them to care with confidence and in good health, and are empowered to have a life of their own outside of their caring role.

Central Carers Association aims to provide quality, confidential services that are
sensitive to the needs and wishes of local carers and provide opportunities to allow carers to participate in the development of local health and community care services to improve the quality of life for carers and those they care for.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
The Board meets bimonthly. At present, the Board meetings are scheduled between 3pm and 6pm, this is subject to change and negotiations between existing and new board members. There are times when you will be asked for extra commitment for specific projects, agreed through negotiation. On average, the applicant can expect to spend around 1 day per month on CCA issues (including attendance at Board meetings).

As with all their Board roles, these are voluntary positions. All reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out the tasks of a Board member (including travel) will be reimbursed. They will provide full training for the role including a supportive induction as well as the opportunity to attend a Board meeting prior to appointment.

This is an excellent and rewarding opportunity for individuals with the right mix of experience and passion, who are looking for a meaningful way to help improve the lives of carers across Falkirk and Clackmannanshire.
