Bravehound

BRAVEHOUND needs volunteers with time to commit to a fully supported training programme for around 4 months. The dogs will live with the BRAVEHOUND Buddy for around 4 -6 months. All costs for the dog including food and equipment are covered by BRAVEHOUND.
The role includes caring for the welfare of the dog, socialising and with instruction from the BRAVEHOUND training team, help with training the foundations of an assistance dog.
Experience required
Patience, willingness to learn, able to work to directions given, time to commit, physically able to exercise a dog

Induction training – What is an assistance dog, canine communication, play & engagement, marker training, insight into PTSD, fully supported programme with full instructions to follow
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
