Volunteers required for Leverndale Hospital's Cafe Connect

Café Connect Volunteers provide warm and friendly customer service in our valuable and hugely appreciated facility within the grounds of the Leverndale Mental Health Campus.

The café is looing ot expand it's opneing hours over 5 weekdays, to provide in-patients, who are sometimes unable to access outside facilities, with the opportunity come along for a cuppa and a chat, or to buy snacks and soft drinks. The café will now be open from 0930 until 1600 - we are looking for volunteers to cover one session per week, but this can be flexible.

Volunteer duties include making an array of hot drinks, stock replenishment, handling cash and serving customers, as well as light housekeeping duties. This opportunity requires a reasonable level of physical fitness in order to be behind the counter for prolonged periods. The role of the café volunteer is highly valued within the hospital site and in-patients and staff look forward to chatting with our volunteers as much as the opportunity to use the café itself. We are seeking to recruit volunteers who have good people skills and who are of a friendly disposition.
