Treasurer

Friends of Pittencrieff Park are looking for a Treasuer

The Friends volunteer each Monday morning (1000-1200) to maintain areas of the park, grow plants for the park and annual sale to raise funds for their activities to ensure that Pittencrieff Park remains an outstanding visitor attraction for residents of Dunfermline and visitors to the area. They fund and deliver new projects for the users of the park and collaborate with other community groups and stakeholders for the benefit of the park. They meet on a Monday for a cup of tea and a catch up.

The role of Treasurer is key to the group, their future growth plans and success. The successful person would support the aims of the Friends and can also be a volunteer in the park if they wish. Fundraising experience would be advantageous.

Experience required

Prior experience of the treasurer role and knowledge of current accountancy and financial management practices is required. Duties would include handling and keeping records of receipts of grants, donations and fundraising income, handling authorised expenditure and collating and filing receipts. Maintaining financial records and preparing final report and accounts with supporting documents for the independent examiner and presenting the

accounts to the AGM. Knowledge of online banking would be beneficial. As the accounts are recorded on spreadsheets the successful applicant will need to have access to a computer/laptop.

The ideal volunteer would be friendly and non judgemental towards others and support a teamworking atmosphere.

Travel details

The treasurer can work at home for most aspects of the role. It would be beneficial to attend in person once a month on a Monday session as well as attending our monthly Trustees meeting every second Tuesday of the month ( 1030 -1230 approx.)

The volunteering and monthly meetings are held in Pittencrieff classroom in the park. There is a public car park. We are a short walk from the Bus station. Slightly longer walk from the train station.
