Driver / Sighted Guide

BASE is a Scottish Registered Charity established in 2005 by blind and partially sighted people. The management committee consists of nine Trustees and one co-opted member, the majority of whom are sight impaired. BASE depends entirely on fundraising from donations and applications to charitable trusts.

BASE supports people with sight impairment resident in NE Fife by offering a monthly programme of social activities, including visits to places of interest, theatre visits, museums and outdoor activities. BASE is supported by a team of volunteers providing transport and guiding. These activities take place on the first Thursday each month.

BASE is looking to increase the number of Volunteer Drivers / Sighted Guides in the East Neuk, Cupar and St. Andrews areas.

The role includes transporting people with sight impairments to the destination for days out, guiding the VIP’s and having fun. Training will be provided.
