Virtual Peer Support Volunteer (Women's Health Group)

Everyone has the right to live life to the full. After a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or Long Covid or a stroke, many women experiences fear and isolation and struggle with the impact on their lives. We have created a new an online support group for women with chest, heart, stroke and Long Covid conditions. It's a safe space for women to talk about their conditions, share their experiences and get support to live their lives to the full. We are looking for volunteers to help run the online group. The group meet the first and third Thursday of the month at 11am until 12 midday.

Experience required

Good listening and communication skills; good computer skills; reliable, patient and empathetic; encouraging and supportive; respectful of the opinions of others; understand the need for confidentiality; ability to maintain boundaries; ability to commit to initial and ongoing training and development; ambassador for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

Travel details

Home-based.

Travel expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be re-imbursed. These should be discussed with your line manager prior to outlay and must be submitted within the prescribed guidelines as detailed in the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland Volunteer Expenses Policy.

Training details

CHSS will provide Access to a bespoke range of training and development to support you in your role.

Minimum age: 18
In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Adults) Scheme in Scotland (PVG).
