Telephone Befriending

The 'Lend an Ear' project, run by the Beith Trust, has been set up to tackle loneliness in the area and to build new connections in the community.

Lend an Ear volunteers provide weekly phone calls to people who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation.

The service is entirely free, providing a friendly voice to individuals seeking companionship and support. The volunteering experience is designed to be flexible, requiring only a few hours per week, making it accessible to individuals with busy schedules.

Volunteers for Lend an Ear will undergo high-class training to ensure they are well-equipped to provide empathetic and supportive conversations.

The organisation is dedicated to supporting volunteers throughout their journey, recognising the invaluable role they play in fostering meaningful connections within the community.

Whether you're seeking companionship or looking to make a meaningful contribution to your community, Lend an Ear wants to hear from you.

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
